Get To Know Me A Little Better

Photography is not my Monday-to-Friday career, it is my creative outlet for life. I’m a down-to-earth, outgoing soul who drinks way too much tea and cries her face-off when watching “This Is Us!” Yes, like a blubbering baby… I know total sap, right. I am the biggest Dave Matthews Band Fan and have gone to 19 shows to date. I'm a Peloton die-hard and avid runner. I'm a Brock University graduate with a double BA in Psychology and Sociology who could eat spaghetti for dinner every single night!

My Great Love Story

My husband is my greatest love. We are complete opposites which is why we've lasted over 20 years together! I know its cliche but he's my best friend, I was introduced to him by his last name Schaefer and I've called him that ever since. Even Nana calls him Schaef.

When I'm Not Creating

I’m a full-time, social working Mom of 2 sweet girls and a wife. We're located in the Niagara Region, My family and I are pretty low-key and love outdoor fun. We enjoy snuggling our mini-golden doodle Bergery named after Boston's Burins Bertice Bergeon, who is the laziest dog on the planet. He runs and hides when I ask if he wants to go for a walk!

The Story of a Photographer

Camera and An Image

I was always mesmerized by photography and messed around with it for years. But its importance became more evident once I became a mother. I realized I had no childhood pictures of myself or old family portraits I could show my kids. No snapshots of my parents snuggling me. Nothing capturing my childhood or their love for me. This is one of the only pictures I have of me as a toddler.

The "Why" To My Passion

As a parent, this hit me hard, as I was brimming with love that oozed for my babes. I realized how fast life travels and I wanted to remember all those little moments in between the great milestones. I started to eat, sleep and breathe photography to absorb everything I could to develop my skills to create beautiful images to artifact their childhood. I began to see the beauty in life’s ordinary things like my older daughter’s marker stain fingers, or how the light tickled my youngest daughter’s sweet little curls. This sparked a need in me to create a love letter of images for my children, I developed the same joy and genuine craving to create images of connection and love for my clients!

Power of an Image

I love being able to create storytelling images or beautiful timeless portraits that pause life at a point in time. Allowing us to slow down and be in the moment of the image.

Moments Matter

“My love affair with photography is woven into my every being now. I"m always looking for the tiny details, challenging light, a moment or a story to catch.”
